Finally during the trip to NY i got the chance to get to know Eyebeam: art and technology center. It was a very quick workshop but having the opportunity to get to know their other classes and their structure was very interesting. The workshop took place during the MMNY - make music new york day, when the city was taken by over 300 musical actions including workshops. The workshop in Eyebeam was part of InterActive Music NY (IAMNY!) program.
The workshop was with a"local" circuit bender and artist called Phillip Stearns. In this workshop i got to know a little bit of Phillip Stearns, whom i would see again very recently in Belo Horizonte, for the FAD- international digital arts festival, and, of course, find out that Phill was not a "local" circuit bender but a full hands electronic sculpturer-artist!He has presented, lectured, held workshops, performed, and exhibited at various international institutions and festivals including STEIM, Harvestworks, 3rdWard, Solar One, Transitio_MX, NIME, FONLAD, Torrance Art Museum, Machine Project, Experimental Television Center, Bent Festival and others.
